Welcome to the Regal Rose Hotel: The posh and elegant hotel that caters to the rich, the famous, and the eccentric in Jazz Age London. Try the hotel’s signature drink, The Rose, at the Portage Club nightclub, dance the night away to the music of Dot and the Four Grooves, and sit with Lola Rose and her companions as they indulge in jazz, cocktails, rumors, and mysteries. There may just be a romance or two.
Glitz and Glamour Stole Pattern
Laurinda Reddig’s newest design is inspired by the Assuit stoles which combined the passion for all things Egyptian with Art Deco, both integral to 1920’s style. This simple rectangular stole uses filet crochet to create a pattern of interconnected squares topped off with loose fringe on the ends.
The hints of sparkle in the yarn will make it perfect to wrap around your shoulders for an evening out, showing off the filet pattern, or wound around your neck as a scarf. A traditional technique worked with Laurinda’s usual twist, this piece will add a little flair that any “Bright Young Thing” would covet for a night out at the Portage Club or shopping at the Regal Rose Hotel boutiques.
Kitty Glitter Yarn from Boss Kitty
This kit featured a yummy skein of 430 yards fingering weight yarn in a blend of 75% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon, and 5% Stellina. Pour yourself a glass of cabernet with the Victoria colorway over gold stellina. Gaze into a midnight sky with the Larkspur colorway over silver stellina. As with all hand-dyed yarn color shades may vary as each skein is unique.
Traveler’s Notebook
Our designer Laurinda wanted to give our subscribers a way to collect the new Short Story Booklets, so she came up with these Traveler’s Notebooks with 4 elastic bands to collect all the stories for the year. She found a great textured vinyl which she and Cecillie stiffened with layers of glue and handmade paper to give them a more defined spine so they can fit on a bookshelf along with all the past kit books.
